members may remember my friend and Member Dave Holland passed away last year after a fight with cancer.
I was contacted by his niece Mandy who is a co-executor of Davids estate whom asked me to help with Davids radio gear.
Last Tuesday Kate and I went up to Davids property to collect all of his radio gear.
I have not fully sorted it all as yet and its mostly amateur radio gear however Mandy and her sister have donated all this to the HFRC for us to use or sell and use the proceeds to fund club activities.

I would like to Thank Sally, Mandy and all of Davids family for this kind donation and I am sure David would be happy to know its going to the club knowing it will be used and in good hands.

VALE – Vernon Crabb (7883)

Sadly, Vern Crabb passed away on 11 Apri 2026 after a long battle with cancer.
Vern was a long time member of the HF Radio Club and spent many years on the road with his dear wife, Nell.
He didn’t rejoin the Club this year because he didn’t think he’d survive Christmas.
However, he battled on keeping active on the amateur radio nets until his passing.
Vern and Nell travelled Australia in their Motorhome, called the CRABBPOT.
He called into skeds every now and then. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and fellow travellers.
We wish his family and devoted wife of 52 years, Nell, our sincere condolences.
