Telephone Interconnect (TIC) gives you the cheapest rates around.

Whilst travelling, the phone interconnect system is a valuable asset and is available to be used on most of the radios you have. Many of our members are using the system each and every day to contact home - a small cost for peace of mind.

With your membership, you have the use of our three base stations at Casino (NSW) Cooladdi (Qld) and Albany (WA). You deposit a call bank of $50. Charges are worked out at $1 connection, plus 50 cents per minute for landline calls, for a maximum of 6 minutes. Mobile rates are $1 connection plus $1 per minute for a maximum of 6 minutes.

TIC is a system you can use, when your mobile phone is out of range. It is designed for quick messages to let loved ones know that you are safe. Because it is operated via the radio, the potential range is huge; if you can’t succeed using one base, you can always try one of the others. The system only works for you to ring out, it cannot receive calls. However, this aspect can be solved, especially in an emergency, by your loved ones leaving a message at one of the bases. This message would then be passed on by the base operator, by radio.
